Ingrid Wijk (1964) often works with natural materials such as stone and wood. In her sculptures she combines the unpolished roughness of the natural material with the softer expression of the human being in mainly heads and torsos. In her work she experiments with other materials such as bronze, plaster and cast resin.

 

From a young age she has been involved with arts and crafts, actively and passively. She was trained at the Genk Academy and has done various masterclasses in sculpture, including in Carrara.
